The Human Augmentation and Novel Device (HAND) Lab is based in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, one of the Canada's leading universities. Our research takes an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of wearable robotics, haptics, and soft robotic systems. We focus on developing wearable tactile devices, robotic teleoperation systems, and soft robots to enable more intuitive, immersive, and dexterous human–robot interaction.

Recruiting: I am currently seeking several highly motivated PhD and MSc students. With recent major funding, my lab is well positioned to support new student. All graduate students will receive full funding. Postdoctoral researchers with external funding are also encouraged to contact me.

Please contact Jung-Hwan Youn (jy92@illinois.edu) for more information about the lab and its activities.
