The Human Augmentation and Novel Device (HAND) Lab is based in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, one of the Canada's leading universities. Our research takes an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of wearable robotics, haptics, and soft robotic systems. We focus on developing wearable tactile devices, robotic teleoperation systems, and soft robots to enable more intuitive, immersive, and dexterous human–robot interaction.

Recruiting: I am currently seeking two highly motivated PhD or MSc students. All graduate students will be fully funded through research assistantships (RAs), although they may be required to serve as teaching assistants (TAs) for a short period. Postdoctoral researchers with external funding are also encouraged to contact me.

Please contact Jung-Hwan Youn (jungwhan0810@gmail.com) for more information about the lab.
